Fossil
Once the beating heart of rural communities, the old garages of Ireland now sit silent—weathered husks abandoned to rain, rust, and time. With the rise of electric vehicles, the thrum of the internal combustion engine fades into memory, and with it the stories, slang, and skill of a generation of mechanics.
In this ongoing project, I return to those places that shaped my earliest memories—my father’s garage, the scent of oil and rubber, the quiet dignity of hands that could fix anything. Fossil is a photographic elegy to a disappearing world and a meditation on change, memory, and what we leave behind when technology moves on.
“There’s beauty in the decay, in the way nature gently reclaims what industry left behind.”
